Red Canyon Hike (before the snow)

Unlike National Parks, dogs are allowed on the trails here in the National Forest. Another benefit over the Bryce Canyon trails is that we never saw anyone else most of the time. Bryce Canyon is beautiful, but sometimes it's like hiking in Manhattan there are so many people.

I am intrigued the way the trees grow in this twisted fashion here. I would love to see some planks sawn from these trees.

Reminds me of Easter Island, not that I've been there.

It's said that the bark of the Ponderosa Pine smells like butterscotch. It does!

  1. Love, love, love that area! We did that same hike everyday we were there and practically never met anyone either. Doggie loved it too!
